The record is Broken!!!

Yeah!!! The old record of swimming in the ocean on October 15th was broken today.  Waves were dangerously rough so I only rode one.... then decided that I really didn't want to drown at my favorite beach... Water was 62...

Tying the old record

Tied my old record of swimming in the ocean on October 15th.

Sept. 17, 2013

Was shocked to find that I was the only swimmer in the water at NTB today at 4:30. (there was also ONE surfer) It was fairly warm in Wakefield but blustery and cold at the beach.  I almost didn't go in, but figured I should since I had my suit on.  It was warmer in the water than out.  Once I got out I was freezing and left to go home right away.  Hopefully I'll be able to swim again in the next few days, as the weatherman says it's supposed to be nice.
Every year about this time I get panic stricken knowing that my days for swimming at the beach are numbered.

Hopefully not the Last

Today it was near 90 and very humid.  John and I met Sarah & Carol at the beach and had a great time riding the waves.  Water was refreshing and beach was packed.  Hopefully it was NOT my final ocean swim this season.
PS... Speaking of the ocean and swimming... My new hero is the 64 year old woman who swam from Cuba to Florida.  Pretty amazing

Inspired by The International Crane Foundation (W)I

I've come to realize that my work is much better viewed from a distance... so I have left the photo smaller than I used to. I carted my soft and hard pastels from WI to MT to RI so I am making packing them worthwhile.  Trying to do something everyday.  This was started as Liam took a 2 hour nap.

Lantern Flower

Some friends have this growing in their yard.  Every year I ask if I can transplant some and every year I never get around to it.  Maybe this will be the year!!!

Waterwalking with Friends

I was horrified to discover that the pool at the Y was closed for a month starting in late July.  Luckily one of the ladies in the  waterwalking class lives one block from me and has a beautiful pool.  A group of us meet whenever the weather is good and have a great time.  Today I ran down there at 5 pm and took a quick dip.  What a treat!!!
