This was a bit unusual because of the raised catwalk that led to the mini lighthouse on the rocks. We guessed that it is used when the waves crash over the concrete pier. How would you like to walk on that in a blizzard!!!Monday, October 10, 2011

Tip of Door Co. & Newport State Park
The first photo is of the ferry that goes to Washington Island off ther tip of Door Co. The bottom photo is of Ted sticking his big toe in Lake Michigan at Newport State Park. Observation Tower Peninsula State Park
At least two of the state parks we went to had observation towers. These structures were so tall that they moved (slightly) in the wind. The views were spectacular. Click on the pics to make them bigger and they're FANTASTIC!
