Hiking Up to the Upper Town
There was a citadel that was farther up the mountain, but there was only a pile of crumbled stones. This church had been restored in the 1800's, but is not in use or open today. It had quite a vista.
This shows the path that we followed up the mountain.
This is the hill that we climbed up. Luckily we hiked at 9:30 am. It was hot, even then. Click to enlarge so you can see the trail and the city wall.
