Waverider's Lament

Quick September slip slides by
Swallowed by a cloud filled sky
Those of us who ride the waves
Lament each passing darker day
Reluctantly we pack away
Towels and chairs, but still we crave
Salty wetness swirling round
Foam and speed and rhythmic sound
Sand and spray and sun galore
Rising waves forever more

Only a fellow waverider would comment on this post. The rest of you must not have salt water in your veins!!!

Just stumbled across your blog. I can't claim to be a surfer. But your blog title about a family separated by oceans, corn fields and time resonates deeply. Glad I found this spot.
