Whew! If 2009 is anything like 2008 I need to buckle my seat belt and hold on tight. Last year blessed me with 2 new grandchildren, a two month Grecian hiatus, a bumper crop of giant cherry tomatoes, a 7 week (and still counting) trip to frigid Wisconsin, a three week trip to sunny California, foot surgery, retirement, and three new housemates. It was a lively twelve months. Today was Jesse's 33rd. B-day and Ted's 61st. In the past they always got together and cooked a birthday meal. In honor of that culinary tradition I made homemade macaroni and cheese for lunch and Jesse and Evelyn made a mile-high apple pie which we all enjoyed before Kevin drove Jesse back to Milwaukee. Surgery to close up Oliver's chest is scheduled for Friday morning.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your retirement. Guess it was timed just about right. It's a sunny 1st in Athens; But I arrived at the college to discover a leak in the joint to pump #4 discharge line which was repaired last week, and last night I discovered a leak to the mechanical seal to Pump #1. Both are turned off and isolated so they cann't do any additional damage. I HOPE THIS DOES NOT FORE TELL THINGS TO COME. As long as I get help from folks here and folks from the other side of the pond continue to communicate and some visit, I will be just fine. MAYBE!
Oh, I forgot in my last post (see above) HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL AND TO ALL A HAPPY NEW YEARS WITH LOTS OF LOVE.
It has been a momentous year for you! Maybe a little calm and quiet would be in order for 2009. Hope it's a happy and healthy one for all the Boyetts.
